BRP GO! Navigation App Is A Go for The Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs

(Barrie, ON: November 12, 2021) – The Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs (OFSC) is pleased to announce that the OFSC will share trail data on the BRP GO! navigation app for the 2021-22 season.

This new agreement enables the consistent and timely delivery of authorized Ontario trail availability information and data on BRP GO! App users will view this information in real-time as it appears on the OFSC Go Snowmobiling app, mirroring the Interactive Trail Guide (ITG) from December 1 to the end of each snowmobile season.

“We’re delighted to reach this agreement that allows our Ski-Doo and Lynx customers, as well as any Ontario users of the BRP GO! App, to get official recreational OFSC prescribed trail information directly on their phones and in some cases mirrored to their digital displays,” said Annick Lauzon, Director, Global Marketing, Sea-Doo & Ski-Doo. “This kind of map use elevates the user experience.”

Mapgears, a long time OFSC supplier and software company specializing in web mapping solutions, was instrumental in developing the IT components of this agreement. The agreement addresses safety and risk management concerns to ensure the protection of Ontario snowmobile trails, groomer operators, riders and landowners.

“We are very pleased to have arrived at this outcome after tremendous efforts on both sides. Our agreement also brings BRP on as a premier annual partner in our OFSC Landowner Appreciation Program, which will serve to bolster an incredibly important initiative for organized snowmobiling,” stated Ryan Eickmeier, OFSC Chief Executive Officer. “The OFSC recognizes that technology continues to evolve at a rapid pace and welcomes this agreement with BRP for the benefit of everyone involved in the industry and for the future of accessible digital trail navigation.”

For over 16 years, the ITG has become the sole authorized source for snowmobile trail availability information in the province. Ontario snowmobilers are accustomed to viewing the ITG for accurate trail updates and safety information. The OFSC remains committed to ensuring that the distribution of recreational OFSC Prescribed Trail data through all websites or apps remains consistent.
